Critique Your Images 10/4/18

Many of our Critique nights in days of ole looked at easy fixes such as cropping and rule of thirds. Critiquing should: 1. State what looks good, what you like, 2. What you feel needs to be changed. 3. How you feel the changes will help the image.
This gives you a chance to exercise your mind and practice really looking at the image or even your own image a bit closer. Members should bringing in photos that they want critiqued to better prepare for the competitions. The judging in competition is really subjective, but for the most part there are some elements that will really give an image an advantage. The simple things like focus, color balance, and sticking to the rules are important.
Impact is always one of the most important parts of the image in these competitions. Judges have so little time to view and make a judgement on each image.
Given more time to look at and critique your images before you submit them will help you find all of the small flaws that affect impact.
